The Thomas Jefferson Discussion Group of Orlando, Florida
Meeting No. 49 - July 19, 2005
Holiday House Restaurant, Orlando, Florida
THIS MONTH'S TOPIC:
JEFFERSON AND PRIVATE PROPERTY
Recently the Supreme Court ruled on the role the federal government can play in resolving property (land) disputes between a citizen and the government – specifically, the right of a government to seize a citizen’s property if they judge that property can be better used to serve the greater good of the community.
What would Thomas Jefferson’s view be on that ruling?
