The Thomas Jefferson Discussion Group of Orlando, Florida
Meeting No. 45 - January 19, 2005
Holiday House Restaurant, Orlando, Florida
THIS MONTH'S TOPIC:
OUR RELATION WITH THE "OLD WORLD"
The English and the French – have we ever had such a clear distinction in relations among us and these two "Old World" countries?
The answer: "Oh, yes!" For our first meeting of the year we’ll discuss "Jefferson, the Colonies, The French and the Indians – The Legacy of the French and Indian War".
We are in the midst of the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War (In Europe called the "Seven Years War"). Thomas Jefferson was 11 years old. On Tuesday night (about 6:30) at The Holiday House (In the La Quinta Hotel, Lee Road and I-4) we’ll discuss this war and how it helped make us who we are today. Hope to see you.
