THIS MONTH'S TOPIC: TREATMENT OF NON-CITIZENS IN AMERICA
A discussion of our laws regarding the treatment of non-citizens.
- Compare the post 9/11 treatment of Muslims to the Alien and Sedition Acts proposed in 1798 during the Adams' administration, in reaction to French privateering and the XYZ Affair.
Thomas Jefferson was Vice President at this time and strongly opposed this legislation (It led to the Virginia & Kentucky Resolutions that threatened to break the union).
